The article presents a case of a super-obese patient (BMI =51 kg/m²) who was operated on laparoscopically with biliopancreatic diversion with a duodenal switch (BPD-DS). According to our literature research it was the first laparoscopic BPD-DS operation in Poland. Follow-up showed very good body mass reduction with small sight symptom. The operation seems to be very effective but should be performed only by very experienced laparoscopic surgeons in bariatric centres.
